Beware of Fraud & Scams

Phone calls:

Fraudster can use First Northern Bank’s caller ID and their phone numbers to call our customers. They act as one of our employees and tell customers that there is fraud on their account. They tell the customer the only way to protect them is for the customer to give their card and online banking information. Once this information is given, the fraudster can get into everything.

We will never call our customers and ask for this information. Your card and online banking information is private information that should never be given out. If you get a suspicious call and they ask for private information, please hang up the call. You can always call your local branch to verify the information and situation.

Texts:

Scammers can also impersonate First Northern Bank via text message. These scammers try to probe you for information that a bank would already have or get you to click on suspicious links.

We will never contact our customers in this manner. Watch out for texts from suspicious numbers. When in doubt call or stop by your local branch to alert us.
